confused How do I get rid of the white outline around the photos on the boxes in YafaRay?

I started using the method of photography on boxes in projects (the idea was suggested by dear Keet). You can insert any figures of people, pets, and use furnishings from your old life. For high-quality interior lighting, you need to use YafaRay, the render turns out to be soft in light, without spots, and loads twice as fast as Sunflower. But YafaRay shows a big drawback, there is always a thin white contour around the figures, which spoils everything. I can't get rid of it (at least for me). And in the simpler Sunflower, this contour does not exist at all! But there are spots, sharp boundaries of the intersection of fixtures and shapes, and a very long load. I need to work at YafaRay. Is there a way to fix this unnecessary contour in the SH3D program? It is very necessary to use this method, it makes the program more interesting for visualization. But the contour spoils everything.

Re: How do I get rid of the white outline around the photos on the boxes in YafaRay?

I assume you are sure that the boxes are created with only a front face and all other sides are removed? In other words, what's left of the box has a zero depth?

The boxes are of different thicknesses, the visible side is only with the photo, the rest are invisible. Of course, I will try to try with zero thickness, but in another sunflow trace there is no contour at any thickness. It is strange that there is such a difference.. The examples show the same model in two different traces. The result is completely different.

Try to disable anti-aliasing. From what I remember the white line comes from the process that handles where objects 'touch' in the composed image (i.e. the image and the background. YafaRay being superior to Sunflow will try to implement a smooth transit between the two which could cause this.

I tried everything, exported the box to OBJ, re-created it as furniture with zero thickness, re-set the texture-photo. The outline is there again. This is YafaRay's problem.

Re: How do I get rid of the white outline around the photos on the boxes in YafaRay?

I can't see it myself because for some reason YafaRay doesn't show up as an option to choose as renderer.
But with the Photo Video Render plugin from EnkoNyito you should be able to access extra settings for YafaRay. I hope anti-aliasing is one of them where you can either switch it off or select a different filter.

Update: you need the AdvancedSettingsPhotoRendering plugin
According to this page you should be able to access the high quality property settings.

sad Re: How do I get rid of the white outline around the photos on the boxes in YafaRay?

It didn't work out. The settings are already at the very minimum, you can only increase the indicators, but this does not work. I went through all the filters with different anti-aliasing settings. It didn't help..

Re: How do I get rid of the white outline around the photos on the boxes in YafaRay?

Then I'm afraid I don't know what else you can do.
If you search the net for white line around 3D object you will find a lot of references. It seems to be a very old and common problem, often found in relation to game development. There are a few very technical explanations and a lot of tries to solve it. But other than the aliasing (which I found with a quick search) I found no other solutions you can try within Sweet Home 3D.

Maybe if someone is capable of implementing the Cycles renderer it can be solved. It's free and open source so it fits Sweet Home 3D. It's the best available renderer used by Blender. Even professional studio's use it.

I don't know how to do it but you can try to render a photo in Blender and see if the same problem occurs. Either by using Cycles or YafaRay. You should have a few more options to set in Blender that might make a difference. Once you know if a specific setting for YafaRay does solve the problem you can ask EnkoNyito if he can add it to the AdvancedSettings plugin.
