Re: Bathroom details

macfrog,

Nice render! And BIG!!!

Two suggestions:
- a bit more light in the right part of the shower?
- a texture with a higher definition for the marble wall?

Re: Bathroom details

Thanx Hans:)

unfortunately, this "simple" render took about 20 hours on my Powerbook, so the additional spots are not an option until i'm at my homes workhorse...

I already "build" the shower separately as an own project, because the ceiling is a little tricky with 3 textures to apply and 6(!) spots.

the marble, indeed, is not very nice. i have to look for a different tile design anyway...

lights shower

Hans,

here is an example of the shower ceiling as supposed to be.
the rain shower armature has to be an additional object, for the texture. there is another level of ceiling planned, for the LED illuminated dome.
the lights look a bit quirky, i got to create some ceiling halogen spots later.

Re: Bathroom details

20 hrs for a full HD render. and there are some lights not directly visible, and there some glass/reflections on the way.
And-most of all- it's a single core PPC G4 with 2GB memory @1.5GHz only.
btw.
I'm familar with other engines, i'm into 3d-design for more than 15 years now blushing Still remember the times when one LowRes frame take a day or more.....

Bathroom, more details

Hello to everyone watching,

i've just done some more pictures, i hope you find them kindof usefull biggrin

first one is another view at supposed to be late afternoon:

then,2nd, a view from the edge of the tub at 20PM, midsummer:

Ceiling lights are off, nice dark ambience...
(this one took about an hour to render)

and 3rd, from the same point of view, a brighter look at the scene:

(here we are talking about 1hour and a half for this (tiny) image to render: there are 8 light sources present and alot(!) of glass and other reflections).

feel free to comment!

Re: Bathroom, more details

Hi to everybody,

i just finished the render of this project on my new MBP.
Well, it took only 27 minutes(!) for a full hd image in best quality.
I think the 4x2 cores helped alot biggrin

anyway, here's the big picture:

Octane render is a very good program. I own it. I also don't use it any more. Blender cycles renderer is to notch, and free with blender. May as well keep it open. My vote is for cycles, much more flexible.
