noobie needs help with really basic stuff

like how to move my design around on the grid, or move the grid display itself. I drew one room. I need more room on the screen to draw the rest of the house. But if I zoom out, the room retreats into the upper left corner and I can't draw another room above it. I need to be able to grab the grid and pull it downward, but no matter what I try, I can't do it, and I can't find anything in help or preferences or anyplace to be able to do this very basic function. I'm just getting started and already I'm frustrated.

Go to the Documentation page
Download and read the Plug-in Tutorial.
Install the AdvancedEdit plug-in.

Good luck.

As said in the help:
The floor default size of a new home is 10 by 10 meters. If any wall, piece of furniture or room is placed out of this default surface, the plan pane will be automatically enlarged.
I think the easier way for you could be to drag and drop an object around the plan and you'll see that it will enlarge.
