Sky not rendering properly
Hi!
I started using Sweet Home some weeks ago and now I am facing a problem that I haven't been able to solve with the forums and bugs reports.
When I create a photo using the highest qualities, if I select the aerial view the sky is not rendered. I tried to use several sky textures and colors but the result is the same. But the shadows are rendered properly. If I do this in the virtual view, the sky is properly generated (the shadows aren't). In both cases texture's colors are distorted, grey colors are changed to brown ones. I have tried changing the size of the pixels and the point of view, but I always get the same result.
I tried to render this in Win7 x64 with Java7 and in Mac Yosemite, always getting the same result.
Could someone please throw some light to this problem?
My understanding is that in Aerial view the sky texture is not rendered. Instead the sky colour is simulated based on location, orientation and time.
Shadows disappearing when rendering in virtual view sounds strange. Colours rendered are influenced by the sun position and therefore will get a warmer glow in the afternoon. Did you adjust compass and photo rendering time correctly? Something with light sources?
ok

Re: Sky not rendering properly
Hi!
Thanks a lot for your response. I had already read the first one before posting, but I checked the second one after reading your post.
I think that the issue is just that. In the Aerial view the sky is simulated and I always get an almost white colour in daylight and a brown one in the afternoon, which are quite ugly to my understanding:
Aerial
Virtual
I thought that the sky would be rendered using the texture or color select no matter which Aerial or Virtual view I used.
Regarding the shadows, I said it wrong. I wanted to say that they were there but with a lot less quality in the Virtual view than the high quality they have in the Aerial view.
It is just that I wanted to have the nice shadows of the Aerial view and the sky texture of the Virtual view in the same image, and I though that I was missing something to get that. Is it possible to get that?

Re: Sky not rendering properly
Interesting, I had not noticed that the shadows were different in Aerial and Virtual. Unless you can get the right combination by adjusting geo-location, time and date, I probably would use a decent photo-editor to add a sky gradient or a cloudy pattern. Then you can also adjust the shadow contrast etc etc. ok
