Problem with pdf plans in A3 papersize
Hello,
I have an issue I can't figure out. I am trying to export my plans at 1/50 scale in A3 sized pdf. Therefore, I use a virtual printer that works correctly.
However,
I found that my plan is divided in 2 different pages. I tried to understand why but it still seems weird to me. Here is my examples :
-> the upper level of this file is a copy/paste of the first file. Then, it prints in 2 different pages. Moreover, if I delete this level, the 2 firsts levels prints correctly again in one page.

Re: Problem with pdf plans in A3 papersize
Remi,
I downloaded both files, and I have the same problems as you. (Kubuntu 14.04 64 bits, SH3D 5.0 beta 8 installed version)
The good news: I found a partial workaround in case you need a printed version. Set paper to A3, set margins to 0 (zero), export as PDF. On your printer set printing to "two pages on one sheet". On my A3 printer this results in one image on one A3 sheet.
Problem: the image is rotated 90 degrees, and the scaling is not correct. On the correctly produced page, the 810 cms wall is 795 cms on paper. On the workaround page, that 810 cms wall is only 560 cms on paper.
I didn't test rotating the paper, meaning setting it to portrait instead of landscape in SH3D.
Good luck.

It's not a bug! The program consider the entire building and texts from all layers not only the current one. I change a little bit the positions of dimensions, compass and texts to fit on A3. Use print preview to verify. Hire is the modified file. test-A3-modif.sh3d

Thanks for testing.
However, it still appears a bug to me ;) I see that your workaround works but there would be the place on the paper without it. There might be a problem of margins but there is no settings to change it. And finally, I don't agree that considering the entire building is the proper behaviour to print one level's plan.

dorin is right, the print bounds are computed from all the visible items at all levels. Thus, you can superimpose printed levels or better understand how levels should superimpose when you look at them side by side. But if you have problems to force small margins, please try to set com.eteks.sweethome3d.swing.fixedPrintMargin property, reading this article.

I've tested again your unmodified file in new v5.0 installed SH3D. The new feature hide/view level did the trick You need. I hide levels I don't need and the visible level was printed on one page. Good to know for me! I've learn something new and useful.

Thanks a lot for your answers. I apologize not to have replied earlier. I am actually in the real world helping my friend to build her house. Someday, I will tell that whole rock'n'roll story where SH3D mostly provided a significant help to avoid many problems.
Anyway, I tried to set the margin by editing info.plist like this :
I am running OS X 10.6 . Is that the correct way to do it ?
