A pure 90 degree floor plan render?
Ok so I am trying to achieve a floor plan in a 3d rendered image rather than the stock 2d pic. What I do is in the aerial view I try to adjust the camera right over the centre of the floor plan and then take the image.
The only major flaw is that the walls right below the camera are appearing as straight line as intended, but due to the angle of elevation, the walls which are farther from the floor plan's centre are showing them selvesmore than intended.
To explain it more clearly, this is what I have been able to achieve:

If you take the virtual visitor to max height (some 10 000 cm?), head angle to 90° and narrow the field of view to ± 15°, you might get a better approximation. Or, you could export to .obj and try with software/3d viewers that can do different (parallel) projections.
But since what you want essentially is a 2D view with shadows, it is probably easier to apply the shadows to the 2D plan, e.g. like this: - Check SH3D settings to get the right 2D view: - - Furniture icons in plan: top view - - Room rendering in plan: Floor colour or texture. - Select plan and copy/paste to an image editor, such as the Gimp. - If you use the Gimp, try applying Filters - Light and Shadow - Drop Shadow / Xach-Effect to walls and different selections.
ok
PS. You could also export the plan to SVG and edit with Inkscape which also has numerous filters and extensions for different effects. As for the wish list, not a priority as far as I am conerned.
