Beams, columns for timber house

Hi there, we are converting upstairs in our french farmhouse and we have drawn the walls but cannot find anywhere that we can draw columns or beams. We did find a timber frame house in https://3dwarehouse.sketchup.com/search.html?...ses&backendClass=both but when exporting into sketchup we can import to a 3d model but we don't know where to import this to then draw beams etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated, we are stumped!!

Re: Beams, columns for timber house

You can import model from Warehouse into SH3D.
You can use it "as is", but you can't change the model, except its overall size or texture(s).

Re: Beams, columns for timber house

Personally, I do my own beams and columns with boxes and cylinders with wood textures on them. With the new 5.5 version, you can rotate the beams around 3 axes in order to design an attic.
