cool Automatic lights

Hi,

I do not know if this request has already been made.

Is it possible to automatically turn on the lights according to the time of day ?

Example in the préférences : the external street lights (or interiors) light at x% (set in the object) or go off at 0% in daylight. wink

Bright idea, right ? laughing

Re: Automatic lights

This feature is very helpful, if not required by default!

Re: Automatic lights

Simple answer: Yes.
I created a light panel whose apparent power varies according to the position of the sun.
It turns off automatically when it is dark and comes back gradually when it is day.
I think the opposite, off the day and on at night, is feasible.

Complicated answer: But ..
For this to work, you must add a keyword to the name of the light object so that it is taken into account by the PhotoRenderer file so it will not work with the default lights.
As this file has been modified for version 6.0 of Sweet Home 3D, I must first make the photo plug-in compatible with the improvements made by Emmanuel Puybaret. After, I could include a new automatic light sphere (unviewable) responding to the request.

Re: Automatic lights

I have tested and it works (lighting off by day and on when the sun is below the horizon).
Using the keyword in the property file, it will be possible to create or modify a light object to turn on and off automatically.
It only remains to wait for the next version of Sweet Home 3D.

Re: Automatic lights

With the new version of the photo/video plug-in , there are 2 ways to have an automatic light.
- Use the automatic light sphere available in the libraries provided
- Use the automatic and SphereLight keywords in the description property of the light you create

Just enter the light power and the light source manager will do the rest when you change the time.
