Textures stacking when it should be wrapping

I've made a coffeetable and tried adding an oak texture to the legs, but the texture seems to stack which makes stripes on the legs, instead of wrapping and making it more natural looking

Heres what it looks like

Am i doing something wrong or is this expected behaviour

How did you make the, very nice, table? I suspect you need to revisit the texture mapping in the software you used. But how depends on softare (and texture) used. ok

Re: Textures stacking when it should be wrapping

The model is made in autocad, but then made into obj+mtl with Art of Illusion + hand edit the mtl for glass

I added the texture in Sweet Home 3D and this picture is rendered in Sweet Home 3D

Then the model had no texture mapping, hence the irregular result. Not familiar with autocad, but it should have the ability to export texture co-ordinates. So if you try to add (and align/adjust if need be) in autocad (or AoI), that result should also transfer well to SH3D. ok
