Managing groups

Assembling elements to form a group, is a quick and easy way to both create new models and to modify existing models.
Groups are flexible and easy to modify and adapt to different projects, and they can hold light sources.

Some years ago I created a project file called Groups, where I have stored my most useful groups – especially lamps and other models that includes light sources.
The drawback is that copy/paste places the groups in their original position.
It would be a lot easier if we were able to drag them to the desired position, like we do with 3D models from the library.

So my question is:
Would it be possible to make a library / directory where we can save groups in a way that makes it possible to drag them into projects like we do with 3D models from the library?

Re: Managing groups

This would be very useful.
An even better solution would be to include lights etc in the files, so that they can be handled like a "real" piece of furniture.
