Item to Level Assignment
You have to be really careful how you group things or they will appear in the 2D and 3D level views unexpectedly. I wish there were an item modify dialog box property to assign them to a certain level of your choosing. This would be particularly useful for items and shapes that are meant to be viewed in one level but it's starting elevation is lower and is thus displayed by default in the below level; i.e. a sloping stairway ceiling that starts at the lower level's ceiling height. If there was a split 3D polygon tool that could be useful too so that you could slice or shear them cleanly off between levels, or if there was a toggle to make the 3D view display would do that automatically. Here's a 3D view example:

Re: Item to Level Assignment
Similarly, negative values have been mentioned in the past, position the item on the correct level but apply a negative elevation, this would ensure the object would only be viewed when that level is selected, if at any time you wanted/needed to view all, then you could select that option in the "3D view menu".
If you are finding it gets in the way of your view, you could, for now, position a smaller triangle on level 0. and a larger one, combined with a box, on level 1. The box or exported wall that you have used as the back of the laundry cupboard could have been be placed on level 1 anyway.
A "slicing tool" however could have other uses too. Some good renders have been shown where walls etc have been lowered or made opaque, imagine just slicing a section away.
