Suggestion - 3d Extrude tool

I would like to suggest a 2d to 3d extrusion tool, which is based on simple vector files such as svg, I believe it would be very useful for both decorating items and also creating commercial facades among other applications, thank you.

example

You can make 10 as floor thikness, draw room as a vector, and save the room as a furniture

You can "fix" that but you will have to edit the obj and mtl files.

In the obj file give every g group a unique "usemtl <name>" line. In the mtl file create a block for every one of those names. The exact color is not important yet.
Import the obj file and now you can change every part of the object.
You can see what material name is for each part of the object so you can edit the obj/mtl files again if you want to give them meaningful names. You might not have every single face but more than when you started. Thats how far you can go with Sweethome3D.

If you are familiar with Blender you can use a different method: import the obj file in Blender. You can see each group in the list and assign a different material to each group. You could even assign different materials to every face. Export the object and import in Sweethome3D.

Re: Suggestion - 3d Extrude tool

it's a long way since you only COPY as a new furniture and PASTE with the plugin.

i suppose it's not a big fix for the developpers to be able to get all the faces at the pasting
