Copy between Categories?

How can I copy an object from one category to another? Dragging and dropping doesn't work.

Also, is there a way to delete a category once I've moved all the objects to another category?

Can a category be renamed?

Basically, I imported an object and created a new category to put it in and of course misspelled the category name. Trying to fix it.

I've searched all over the site and can't find the answers.

Thank you so much for any help. biggrin

Re: Copy between Categories?

A category exists by having at least one object in that category. If you imported an object and gave it a new category name that you want to get rid of you just delete the object from the inventory: click once on it to select it and press the delete button. Then import the object again where you can set the correct category. If you have multiple objects imported with the wrong name you will have to delete them all and re-import them. You might be better of by creating a Furniture Library. This will also give you more properties to set for your furniture.

Individual deletion of furniture won't work for furniture that is part of a Furniture Library, you will have to use the Furniture Library Editor to add or remove furniture. With the Furniture Library Editor you set the categories by selecting one or more objects in the library, press ctrl+E, and edit the category field. Then save the library and import it in Sweet Home 3D.
The most recent version of the Furniture Library Editor is 2.0 beta7 You can read all about the editor here (21 pages so a lot to read).

Re: Copy between Categories?

You can also double click on the imported model and change the category name at the 3rd step of the import wizard.
