Uninstall on Mac (Sonoma 14.2)
hi all
I've been using SH3D for many years without any issue, but I have run into an issue on my Mac and looking at a way to uninstall every bit of SH3D, as it appears I have a corrupt file somewhere... as some of my docs open while others won't... I know the docs themselves are fine as I can open them without problem on another computer and using the web app on my my own Mac. I've even created a new user and logged in on my Mac and the docs that won't open under my main log in open without issue, so there's something up with my install in my main log in.
I have tried removing and re-installing version 7 / 7.1 / 7.2 but I still run into the same issue, so I've missed a file somewhere when I manually deleted the installed files (I don't see a way to do an uninstall automatically).
I've done searches for eteks, sweet home, sweet home and these are the only files I've found (all of which I deleted before a new install)
Libraries /Library/Application Support/eTeks/Sweet Home 3D/ Currently running on a Mac M1 Sonoma 14.2 / Java 8 Update 401, so all the latest, but this doesn't appear to be the issue
have I missed any, or is there another search term I could be using to locate them

How do you open these files? With a double click or with File > Open menu item? What error do you get if any?
By the way, you don't need to install Java to run Sweet Home 3D from its DMG download (unless you run Sweet Home 3D with its JAR Executable file).

Re: Uninstall on Mac (Sonoma 14.2)
morning, thanks for your input. It doesn't seem to matter whether I open the doc by double clicking or from the open file selection within SH3D, I get the same result. The file begins to open, spinning ball mouse icon, then after about 10 seconds SH3D hangs. Requiring a force quit. If I leave the force quit window open I can see that after about 10 seconds of opening these docs SH3D hangs.
And as I mentioned SH3D runs perfectly and these files open no problem on the same Mac when I'm logged in as another user, so the only thing different would be preference files for my main log in (unless another app is causing a conflict, which is unlikely, but can't be ruled out). So I'm just trying to find a way to COMPLETELY uninstall SH3D, so there's no trace of it on my Mac and install it again afresh
(I hadn't realised I didn't require Java when running the .dmg)

Re: Uninstall on Mac (Sonoma 14.2)
HI... unfortunately that's exactly what I've already done, deleted every file I could find related to eaters & sweethome, (I've even now deleted Java as well), rebooted. installed a fresh version, and it simply fails to open the documents, yet the same files opens fine on my other log-in. so it's a total mystery, I cannot fathom what is making it hang.
I'll just have to continue using it under the other log in for now.
thanks anyway
