3d view was working but not now...

Hi, I'm a new user learning the ropes of this software. I am on a macbook pro with snow leapard with SH3d 2.2.
I began laying out a office space earlier today and watched the walls appear in 3d just fine. after concentrating on gathering measurements and putting in doors etc for the various rooms I notice that at some point the 3d view is empty. Whazup with that, any thoughts? was it something I did?
Thanks, great tool and easy to use so far.

Can you save your document with no error?
Do you have still this error after relaunching Sweet Home 3D?
Is the 3D view empty in both Aerial view and Virtual visit modes?
Maybe you're simply viewing a grey wall?

yes I can save the document and reopen it. Also have relaunched and rebooted with same results. The 3d display is the same for both modes. I have zoomed in and out in case of the wall view as you suggest, no change. I may have to just start over and pay closer attention to the 3d view.

Please, can you send me your SH3D file after saving it with Save and compress menu item?
I'd like to check whether you found a bug or not.

Re: 3d view was working but not now...

Thanks for your effort. I recreated the file and the problem did not return. related to this however there are a few other observations I have made.
- from time to time the objects I am working with begin to not respond in the usual manner. the solution I have found is to quit and some time force quit the SH3D program and restart it.
- I have also learned as I search around for objects for our office layout planning, not all images load in with dimensions that match my settings. I.e. cm. This leads to layout and 3d renderings that are either to small or extremely too large for the plan. (this may have been what happened to cause my original problem.)
- finally a very nice feature that I would like to see added, actually 2 that are related.
1) when a group of objects, furniture walls, etc are selected together I would like to identify them as a group that stays associated as one object until I select to ungroup them.
2) A selected group needs to be able to be rotated as a unit.

thanks again for enduring my newness with this tool I am finding it useful once I learn a few tricks.

Reinhardt:

The GROUP function has been asked before, and it might show up in some future version. Nothing definite about that, though.

In the mean time, if you want to group several objects there is an easy workaround.

1 - Open a new instance of SH3D
2 - Select your group and copy it into the new, empty SH3D
3 - Export the group as an OBJ using 3D View --> Export to OBJ format
4 - Import your new OBJ using Furniture --> Import Furniture

Works like a charm!

Tip: There are several tutorials available that come with loads of tips.
