Rendering without ground and sky?

I just wonder; is it very difficult to make ground and sky totally transparent so we are just left with the furniture/objects when rendering?

Re: Rendering without ground and sky?

Apply a transparent texture to both? Or is that beyond the point?

Re: Rendering without ground and sky?

The sky is unlit, so you can set it to any color you want. The ground will always be affected by shadows, and I'm quite sure it doesn't support transparency.
But maybe you also want alpha channel in the output image?

Re: Rendering without ground and sky?

If you select a white texture for the ground and the sky, then render your design in Virtual visit mode, you'll get an image that you can easily cut out. But there's no alpha channel option.

Yes, an alpha channel would have been super!
Shadows on the ground are eliminated with a luminous backdrop, so that's no problem.

Re: Rendering without ground and sky?

For single picture you can easy cut the background color using photo processing programs. For example photoshop has a background eraser tool, or you could try an AI service.

Yes, and that's the whole point of a luminous backdrop.
Keying works best when there are no shadows.
Photoshop is not so good.
Aftereffects or DaVinci Resolve are my preferred tools.

Re: Rendering without ground and sky?

If you have basic programming skill, you may try to edit the advanced photo/video render plugin to remove the code that draws the ground.

He, he - no, I don't do more than html when it comes to coding, but if it is easy for a programmer with basic knowledge, maybe someone will do it for money?

Spread the word!
