Re: search for floor coverings
You can use any image (texture) as a floor covering. Check the Textures page, the ambientCG library has a huge collection of very good textures, most seamless so they fit nicely together. Download and import the .sh3t library, that is easier than wading through individual textures.

Re: search for floor coverings
hello Keet,
This is my problem. I download all of this textures, put them in the Folder --> eTeks--> Textures. If I click on furniture, go down to Textures import, select the textures file, then nothing is found. With the furniture that I download it works...

Re: search for floor coverings
Don't put them in the eteks folder. From the menu select Furniture > Import texture library. Select the .sh3t file you have downloaded and all textures in the library will be available in all dialogs where you select a texture. If you want to import single textures use the menu Furniture > Import Texture.

Re: search for floor coverings
Sorry keet, my fault. The eteks folder is the first folder, inside it is the sweethome 3d main folder and inside it are the other subfolders, including the folder with the textures.
If I click on import texture, I can select the textures folder and click on the .sh3t file. Now a message appears,
the texture library "ambientcg.sh3t" already exists. Do you want to replace the existing one with the new one? Replace or not replace.
I click on replace and the message appears, error, C:/users/Master/eTeks/sweethome3D/textures/ambientcg_.sh3t cannot be imported.
the same happens if I click on do not replace.
after that it is deleted from the folder.
other textures from the Sweethome 3D homepage do not work either.

Re: search for floor coverings
Probably because you try to overwrite the .sh3t file with itself. Move it to another location. Restart Sweet Home 3D and now import from the location where you placed the file.

Re: search for floor coverings
I have now spent the last few hours deleting all the textures and copying them again following your instructions.
Unfortunately, I cannot find the textures or can't select them. There are always whole packages, e.g. with 40 or 50 models. When I want to change the texture, only one model from the package appears. How do I select one from all the textures? Or where do I find them? Textures were copied into the library. Where are they then?

Re: search for floor coverings
Imported textures should be in the list when you modify furniture, rooms, or walls. When you click the button to change a texture that list should appear in your dialog (Modify, button Texture).
What are the 'packages' you mention? Zip files or .sh3t files? > A zip file should only have a single texture. If there are more only the first one is imported, the rest is ignored. It sounds like that is what happended with your imports. Zip files or single images are imported using "Import Texture", i.e. a single texture. > A .sh3t file is a texture library that you import using "Import texture library" and it imports all textures in the library.
If you have zip files with a bunch of images then you have two options: 1 - extract the zip and import the images one by one 2 - create a texture library with all the images from the zip files and then import the library
Creating a texture library is probably the easiest as you mention several packages (zips) with over 50 images. Use the Texture Library Editor to start a new library. With your filemanager select all images you extracted from the zip(s) and drag&drop them in the editor window. All selected images will be imported. You should see the list in the Library Editor. Save the library and now you can import the Texture Library you created which will add all textures in Sweet Home 3D. You can create a separate library for each zip you have.
The ambientCG libraries are already available as .sh3t texture libraries. Download either the ambientCG_256.sh3t or the ambientCG_512.sh3t library. The 1024 is overkill for use as a texture in Sweet Home 3D. Each of the three listed ambientCG libraries contains the same textures only in a different resolution (256,512,1024). Have you tried to download one of these .sh3t files and imported it with Furniture > Import Texture Library? That should give you a long list with very good textures in the modify dialogs when you click the Texture button.

Re: search for floor coverings
I think I'm too stupid for that.
I have loaded the file you linked --ambientCG_256.sh3t and copied it, as you said.
it is in the furniture folder. Now I go to the furniture file at the top, then down to import furniture library. In the field that opens I click on furniture and then on the .sh3f file. Now I get a message saying that the furniture library exists. Do you want to overwrite this? Replace or not replace. No, I don't want either.
If I click on furniture, only an image appears.
If I now double-click on a room, change rooms, select floor on the left and texture at the bottom, only the few predefined ones are included. If I now click on import on the right and select image, nothing works either.
I have now found a carpet in jpeg format, copied it into eteks and placed it on the floor as a writable box.

Re: search for floor coverings
Now, yes, now I understand.
because the files offered are all individual images and the sh3f files can only be edited with the editor. I thought the sh3f files were easy to copy and use.
man, I'm so stupid. Now I know how it works. THANKS!!!
