Converting DWG/DWF files for SH3D?

I write this email in fear that this topic has been discussed before, I have never registered or taken part in a web forum but I am struggling to find an answer to my question so thought I should give it a go!

My question is: Is there a program/plug-in/converter which will convert AUTO CAD DWG/DWF objects so I can use them in SH3D?

I work in sales for a company who design, manufacture, integrate and install broadcast systems. We have a team of CAD designers who make our products and studio layouts look great in proposal documents, and having a sales role myself, I have adopted this idea to sweeten (excuse the pun) the proposals I create for clients who purchase 'off-the-self' studio furniture and systems.

I currently use VISIO (as I am not as clever as our CAD designers) to create, to scale, room layouts using some 2D objects our designers have made of the 'off-the-shelf' products we manufacture. Having played with SH3D quite extensively now, I would like to take it up a gear and be able to drop the CAD designed objects somehow into a simple I create wit SH3D.

Our office use AUTO CAD and are happy to help me, but have said they can only export/save the objects which they use as DWF or DWG files.

Re: Converting DWG/DWF files for SH3D?

You should look at converters from DWG format to OBJ format or to DAE format.
Google will probably give you better answer than me:
DWG to OBJ
DWG to DAE

Don't hesitate to post images in the gallery once you're done, or even better, share some objects you will have converted if your company is ok.
