sparkles on furniture
I'm using Sweet Home 3D to create the layout of my home to use as a background for my home automation touch screen with individual rooms rendered with the lights off and the lights on and when I touch the room the light in the room turns on and the light on image is overlayed over the background so the screen shows the light is on. Sweet Home 3D is great, it has however revealed some deficiencies in the home automation designer software that causes overlap problems between rooms since the rooms aren't square. But it does work it's just not as pretty as I'd like. Anyways, here's my one question.
Using Sweet Home 3.0 on Win 7 Home Premium and the advanced photo plug-in I get lots of sparkles on some furniture when I render it with the lights on or the lights off. It seems to happen on furniture that has hard surfaces, the couch doesn't appear to have any. Is this expected, I'd like to get rid of the sparkles.
Reading through what is mentioned on the forum, I suggest that you try: 1 - to switch the sparkling furniture to Matt or Unchanged and render again to see if that takes the sparkling away. 2 - to set the ceiling to Visible, or if there is no ceiling, to draw a room with visible ceiling. 3 - to apply a texture to the sky to avoid direct sunlight.
Not having your file, I can't help you further by testing it.

Re: sparkles on furniture
for the sh3d project file try right clicking on the file and select save as. It's on web server and there isn't a mime type set for sh3d file so it doesn't think it can serve it if you click on the link but it will work if you pick save as. I'll try your suggestions.
