unregular-box

Is there any box you can change angles to make any shape ?

Or an other suggest how to build ground/land of grass with different levels ?

I have found Box and Triangle, but they have only height and size properties.

Thanks !

Re: unregular-box

The easiest way to create this kind of irregular shape would be with Art of Illusion:
- click on box tool,
- draw a box of any size,
- select Object > Convert to Triangle Mesh menu item,
- select Object > Edit Object menu item,
- In the object editor, move the vertices like you want,
- once done, select Export > Wavefront (.obj) menu item,
- import in Sweet Home 3D the generated file.

Re: unregular-box

You may also download a 30day trial of Autodesk 3ds Max. Creating a cube and modifying it is in one of the first video lessons. Created model can be easily exported to OBJ.

Cheers

Re: unregular-box

Are you sure that a trial version of 3DS MAX would let you legally create some files that you can use for production?

Re: unregular-box

Good question,
according to:
http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/pc/index?siteID=123112&id=18270122

"Trial licenses are only available as Stand-Alone and are for demonstration or evaluation purposes only. They are not to be used for commercial or for-profit purposes."

In my opinion there are no obstacles in using it for personal needs, but I might be wrong :-)

Regards

Re: unregular-box

As lvedin seemed to be satisfied by the AOI solution I proposed, let's think about open source solutions first. Licenses are not shorter to read but definitively gives users more freedom. wink
