SH3D crashes when loading / opening "older" files
Hey guys! Hope you can help me!
When I open SH3D and klick on "open file" and choose one of those which are a few months old, the program crashes and shuts down itself. (sometimes there is the normal extra window "loading...")
There's no problem when I want to open the file I created yesterday.
...I'm using Linux Mint 12, SH3D 3.4 (re-installed today)

Try to open your file from the command line with the SweetHome3D command followed by the path of your file.
You must have updated other things like the video driver on your OS meanwhile too, and the old files may contain some information like textures that you didn't use yet in the file you created recently.

Re: SH3D crashes when loading / opening "older" files
hey, Puybaret! Thanks for the tip. I tried to open the file via terminal...and I got in reply:
me@linuxcomputer ~ $ sweethome3d /home/me/Arbeitsfläche/alles andre/Wohnung_Karl-Nagl-Platz.sh3d # # A fatal error has been detected by the Java Runtime Environment: # # SIGSEGV (0xb) at pc=0x00cd8b5e, pid=6645, tid=2059066224 # # JRE version: 6.0_23-b23 # Java VM: OpenJDK Server VM (20.0-b11 mixed mode linux-x86 ) # Derivative: IcedTea6 1.11pre # Distribution: Ubuntu 11.10, package 6b23~pre11-0ubuntu1.11.10.2 # Problematic frame: # C [libGL.so.1+0x11b5e] glXGetFBConfigs+0x4e # # An error report file with more information is saved as: # /tmp/hs_err_pid6645.log # # If you would like to submit a bug report, please include # instructions how to reproduce the bug and visit: # https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openjdk-6/ # The crash happened outside the Java Virtual Machine in native code. # See problematic frame for where to report the bug. # Aborted me@linuxcomputer ~ $
...so I have an error report now, but I am not able to interpret that...I just see that there's a problem with one of my libraries, probably because of updates...
..is there any chance you might help me again? :-)

Re: SH3D crashes when loading / opening "older" files
This issue is looks like this bug probably due to the driver of your video card.

Re: SH3D crashes when loading / opening "older" files
this may be, yes. still, i have no solution...i cant see what part of the information and how i can use that to get sh3d running perfectly again. so, what can i actively do ???
...i have this computer http://www.fujitsu.com/downloads/COMP/fpcap/n...us/factsheet_lb_S7110.pdf ..it has no extra video or graphic card. the driver's working well with videos of all types, i dont have problems rendering pov-ray (a ray tracing program) models. java's working well too - eg. when surfing the internet.
...i am really feeling helpless, cause i have no idea what to do. opening files via terminal/command line doesnt change any thing. :-(
