smile Cross-Section view of the house

Hi,

I love this software. The features are very user-friendly and quite intuitive. There is just one thing that I am not able to do is to get a cross-section of the house. I would like to cut the house side way, from top of the 2nf floor to all the way to ground floor, as if I am cutting a birthday cake, exposing the studs, joist, beam, brick of the wall, whatever. Is there such a feature in Sweet Home 3D? If there is one, can someone please guide me how to accomplish that? I need the cross-section of the house with all the dimension of the materials used, to apply for a permit to renovate my house. Please help. Many thanks in advance.smile

John.

Re: Cross-Section view of the house

I don't think that feature exists. However, my idea would be to create an invisble object and increase its size to as big as you need, then place it accordingly to hide parts of the house. It should at least work for the walks, don't know what happends to the furniture it overlaps with (you can allways hide them from the list though).
There should already exist a few invisble models with different shapes in the forum.

Re: Cross-Section view of the house

Hi Kbon

I have tried to import thr invisible object from the forum, Put it over my wall but I am still not able to see the cross section.

I think I am not following your trend of thought & suggestion properly. In any case, I thank you very much for your suggestion.

Re: Cross-Section view of the house

Cross-Section view doesn't exist. If you import an invisible box as a door or window, it will cut all walls it intersects with, but not other objects.

Re: Cross-Section view of the house

I am still not able to see the part of the wall even after I have imported the invisible box as Door & Window, and intersect it with the wall. That's okay. I think I have trouble you guys enough. I will seek other software that will have the cross-section features. Nonetheless, Emmanuel, thank you very much for your response.

the ibox works fine for everybody, unfortunately it will not provide your needs, as it cuts only walls.

example:

as you can see, the windows, doors and also all furniture will be left untouched.

but its still a nice look inside :-)
