Turning on lighting.
HI all,
Great program, thanks to the developers. If you could help, I'm a newbe and can't make the lights "work", I can't find a way to make it appear they are working or showing any glow. I have done a lot of searching but can't find a direct answer.

Until now, lights never glow in the 3D view and you can see their effect only in the photo creation tool when you choose one of the 2 best qualities.

Bob -
As someone currently stuck using an underpowered, backup PC, I usually run a quick 'lighting check' run at low resolution (200 to 300 pixels wide) and level 3 quality; that's usually enough to sanity-check most lighting options. (IIRC, only a few, higher-level ray-tracing features [reflection, refraction] show up only at level 4.) Once I've adjusted lighting to eliminate burnout and shaded areas, I render at full size and level 4.
