confused Problem with importing an specific OBJ file

Hello,

We hope anyone can help us with our problem. We do use a software called "PX'5" to export 3D-models into the FBX format.

We then wanted to use the Autodesk FBX Converter to convert the FBX files into an OBJ file.

It works to this step without problems. OBJ/MTL file is generated successfully.

But If we then try to import this OBJ file into SH3D it gives me the error message, that the file is not supported ("Das gewählte Format wird nicht unterstützt. Bitte wählen Sie eine andere Datei.)

Is there anything we need to pay attention to, when creating the FBX file/Converting the FBX file?

Our goal is to use the SH3D Export to HTML5 plugin at the end, to publish the models to a website.

Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Please, send me one of the OBJ file that you can't load. I'll have a look to it.

Re: Problem with importing an specific OBJ file

I tried the files your sent to me, and FBX Converter seems to have a bug because the OBJ file contains a few numbers suffixed by #IND00 or #QNAN0, like 1.#IND00. If you remove all these suffixes (with a simple text editor), you'll be able to import the OBJ file.
The imported file will be all gray, but this is another issue I can't help you about, since the MTL file that should contain colors and textures description is empty!

Re: Problem with importing an specific OBJ file

Hello Puybaret,

Sorry for the delay and thank you very much for investigating.

We were now at least able to get something imported into SH3D, by converting the FBX file into a Colada DAE file first, with the FBX converter. Then open the DAE-file with Blender and Export it to an OBJ-file, again.

We were then able to Import this OBJ-file into SH3D, together with the textures and everything really looks allright in SH3D.

But after using the "Export to HTML5" function and uploading the generated content to a webserver, we do get some strange looking shadows/dark spots on all the textures. Any idea where these could come from?

You can see an uploaded version, here:
http://bott-group.com/3dweb/viewHomeT6.html

You can see it, especially on the "bott" logo, it shouldn't have the black spot in the middle, and with a closer view, this dark spot is seen on every single texture. But these are not visible, when opening up the file in SH3D itself.

Please, let me know, if I should provide you with any further data (DAE-file, OBJ-file,...)

And thank you for your help!
