Send to back/bring to front feature?
If you have furniture (e.g. tables, chairs, bookcases etc) in a room, then add a carpet, the 2D view shows only the carpet, whereas the furniture and carpet are displayed correctly in 3D view.
I know that in many cases you can simulate this by having the furniture elevation starting at the height of the carpet, but I have a specific case where the furniture legs fit into cutouts of the carpets and mats, so both carpets/mats and furniture have an elevation of 0.00.
To show the furniture in the 2D view you need to remove them and then add them again after the carpet.
I know it is a program for 3D display, but has the ability to print the 2D view is extremely useful. However the 2D view/plan not showing the furniture is of limited use. Therefore would it be possible to have a feature to allow send backwards/bring forwards in the 2D view?

Re: Send to back/bring to front feature?
Thanks for the reply (but shouldn't it be Ctrl-X, Ctrl-Y?).
However when items are completely under a carpet/mat, you have to move the mat out of the way, select all the items, Ctrl-X, then replace the carpet/mat then Ctrl-Y.
Just thought that selecting mat and clicking a send-to-back link would be easier.

Not necessarily. On the left panel with furniture list, unchecked the visibility of furniture which are over Your desire piece, or simply select them on this panel, right click -> Cut, then right click Paste. Ctrl+x(c); Ctrl+v is the standard for a standard keyboard (US) for all OS.

Yes, Hans made a typo and should have written Crtl+X then Ctrl+V (Ctrl+C is the shortcut for Copy). Ctrl+Y is the shortcut for Redo under Windows and Linux.

Re: Send to back/bring to front feature?
Actually - even with Ctrl-x / Ctrl-v, messing with the furniture list and all the other workarounds - bring-to-back is not a bad idea; useful for quick editing (especially carpets). We have probably all been there - having to move something to re-stack stuff. Whether it should be a priority with everything else proposed, I would not say. But it is a good user observation from RogerTE worth a note on the pad ok
