Help! File Format

How can I save or convert a copy of my home to a .png file ?
I want to use it as a background image for my home automation project.

Thank you
Your help is very much appreciated.
Jim

Re: Help! File Format

Under Windows and Mac OS X
Select in the plan the items you want in the PNG file.
Choose Edit > Copy out of the menu.
Launch Paint under Windows, and Preview under Mac OS X.
Choose Edit > Paste, and save the image to PNG.

As the menu item Edit > Copy may not work under Linux, print to PDF only the plan (choose the right option in Page setup dialog), and copy the image in the PDF to a drawing program.

Re: Help! File Format

WoW ! That was fast.
Thank you very much for your help.
Before posting I tried sever graphic/drawing programs to open the file and convert it to .png and none worked.
This is great.
Thanks again.
Jim
