Re: The Bungalow by the Chinese ghost city - final version
Hi Claudine. I think I know what you mean. I have had some inquiries earlier, and thought I had fixed it, but obviously not. My FTP-host did some changes five years years ago, and some of the links stopped working. This is browser-dependent. In Safari (on Mac) - no problem, Edge ( on Mac ) = not working, Chrome (on Mac) = not working.
In OPERA (on Mac), you can see the images by open in new window and add .jpg at the end of the link.
If you are on a windows machine, maybe Safari will work.
It is the links in my posts that needs updating. Nothing I can do about that.

Well, you COULD ask for permission to edit your non-working links if you feel it is important, or at least make a note at the top of your posts that links only works with Safari.

Xiste, please, be cool with Ceciliabr, she just came back. Links live and die, it’s how the web works, even if I try to keep them alive as long as possible.

Re: The Bungalow by the Chinese ghost city - final version
Most problems with images in old posts are caused by links using HTTP instead of HTTPS. This wasn't a concern when SH3D website was HTTP only, but I guess most people nowdays use the HTTPS, so the protocol in the links doesn't match the one in the webpage. The workaround is to visit SH3D website using the HTTP protocol. For example the image on the first post of this thread can be seen using the following link: http://www.sweethome3d.com/support/forum/viewthread_thread,6844_offset,0

Re: The Bungalow by the Chinese ghost city - final version
Ha! You are right! So the reason is not the changes done to my ftp-server, but the changes done at the forum? Then this is a general issue. There are many dead links in here.
If I change to http:// loosing the "s", all my dead links are suddenly alive again.
But then I am logged out, and not allowed to log in again. It becomes a sort of "view-mode", where you are like an un-registered visitor, allowed to look, but not allowed to comment.

I have no problem with the images on the first page of the thread. I'm using Firefox on Linux Mint. There is no difference using http:// or https:// for the Sweet Home 3D forum. Using https:// for the image Firefox is complaining about the self signed certificate.

@waldemar The secirity settings may vary from browser to browser.
@cecilia The web session is bound to the web protocol, so you have to login to the http site too. The secirity settings of your browser may preventing ypu to submit passwords to http sites, but there should be a way to bypass this. (I don't want to generate panic, but of course there is a reason if browsers behave this way, so make it at your own risk)

The best solution would be to buy a globally trusted https certificate and install it to your webserver. Then you should ask Emmanuel to be kind enough to update the links to images in all your old posts to https, or publish the images again in a new post.

Ok, so linux is handling this with a remark that it is not safe, but still shows the images. I have been looking at my ftp-server settings to see if there is a way to change it to https. I do get a warning when I sign in, asking me if I should open it anyway. I am using Filezilla. Maybe I should try another ftp-program? Would you have any suggestions? I have tried Cyberduck, but the same happens there.
